hi, ]i have had my xantia for a couple of years now, i have always noticed when it is stationary and on full lock it feels like the front wheels are loked uo, if i ease up the steering a bit it frees off, i have put it into a couple of garages and they say they cant find aproblem.,
would i be right in thinking that the handbrake cables could be routed wrongly,
thanks in advance

I would first check the condition of the arm where the hand brake cable end is attached.
It has a retaining spring. Does it work. Also check under the rubber cap if the mechanism
is rusty, is there grease, spring broken etc. You can start with these.
Here's pic of the arm and rubber cap which is fixed with a cable tie:

What engine is it? The Activa, 3.0, 2.1 and 110HDi need a longer cable on one side because they have a bigger gearbox to get around. I don't think motor factors' catalogues always list the correct cables, they certainly didn't when I needed one. Having the short cable did make the brakes pull on at full lock.
