Xantia Sunroof..

Post by Northern_Mike »

It went up, now won't come down.

HELP!

Some funny looking part fell out too. The fuse is not blown. Power to the motor..

Typically, this happened when the nice Mungkie was viewing it to maybe buy it...

Mike,

Ease down the little flap in front of the sunroof where the motor is, the one with the IR receiver on it, and get the manual winding handle out and gently try closing it on the handle.

Have you got a picture of this funny part that fell out?

Fixing it will be a sod as the headlining has to come down...

Wunderbar! I shall give it a go in the morning.

The funny part was a black bit of metal, about 2" long and shaped a bit like a stanley knife blade with 2 or 3 prongs sticking out. I didn't take any pictures as I threw it in the floorwell in disgust. Also, when we started it up and put the blower on, steam or smoke came out the vents for about 10 seconds, then stopped.. couldn't get the bloody screen to clear though. Drove it 10 miles, it wasn't as vicious over the bumps as I remember it being. Does actually drive ok. MOT is out shortly though...

It was doing the same here. A bin liner has been pressed into service...

A spares car might be for sale shortly.....

Any interest? Maybe a few of you might be interested in "sharing the bits"... If you do, I want the wheels, front seats and steering wheel ...

Ahh, so RUNN is to be 'Activated' then.. :-D

Gareth (Xantiaman) did this years ago on a 1.9TD LX in Dantes' Red and it was a great success. From a diatance you just didn't know it was not an Activa...

Here's proof! Spot the Activas (real ones) in this picture...

   Not all Activas lean you know Robert  [-X

The real Activas are the two on the extremes of the picture. The one in the middle is the imposter... Good though, innit?

Has anyone completed a diesel activa conversion yet? Or maybe a small frugal torquey modern direct injection turbo engine would work better in sports hatch back like this
