Xantia dashboard

Post by Mads »

My Xantia have ever since it was new had reoccurring electrical problems, to the best of my knowledge caused by overheating of an under dimensioned driving light relay. It has been numerous and expensive times in the garage to get the light fixed and they work OK now. Problem is that heating in the seats, one of the side mirrors and the rear window is no longer working.. No fuses seem to be faulty and e.g. the rear window-heating element seems to be in perfect condition so I expect there be a few damaged (burned) wires underneath the dashboard behind the relays.
Therefore I am considering taking apart the dashboard section to once and for all fix the damaged wires. It seems to be a comprehensive job and I would like to hear from anyone who have tried taking apart the dash how much time they spent and if anyone have hot tips or good advice for this procedure.
