I've often wondered how the bushings on sinkers cope with this, as the bushings must be under constant load when sunk down?
I've often pondered this Dom but I guess it's because they're under a static load and not continually flexing at a point of great torsional load. Whatever the reason, they last OK...

Do sinkers sink at the front, I had always assumed it's just the rear.

Yes they do sink at the front.

If the bush is centralised then it will never be taken beyond its designed limits, if not then even with a non sinker the bush will at some point be pulled beyond that point as the suspension is fully extended or compressed.

Well thats the new o/s bush on.. We'll see how long it lasts.. bough a pair of secondhand wishbones fron Robert on this forum, hopeing to do a straight swap, but on close inspection they were starting to go as well. but they were invaluable in gettng the correct angle for the bush and in enabling me to do the whole job in less time.
I also found that long cable ties helped immensely in holding things out of the way during removal and fitting.. they don't tire and get bored as easily as 15 year old boys!! :-D

You just needed a picture of Cindy Crawford or someone similar, taped inside the wheelarch to maintain your lad's attention span.

Were your own old bushes appreciably misaligned, compared to the unmolested arms?

Yes addo I'm afraid they were and well well beyond their best before date!!
Possibly as much as 10 degrees.. I didn't really appreciate the accuracy required last time and didn't use a completely flat surface to line up ( the garage floor) Whereas this time I used the flat metal bench.

i would think it is hard to tell were the old bush's were aligned to if they have fully ripped away from there center's,

i have seen them so bad they are completely un/bonded from the center sleeve,

My P's are shot again now, one pair i got from ebay were too big for the wishbone and just slid on and off by hand and wobbled about they were so bad, the weld broke on the usable one from that pair that was the right size when in use too, the other came from local factors and is of really soft compound, when you come to a halt the wheel stops and the car rocks forward on the play in the soft rubber compound in the bush, utter rubbish, as always get genuine and all will be well, they are more expensive for a reason, same as CV gaitors and ball joints imo.

So where do you get "genuine" bushes?
service.citroen only lists them as part of the arm assembly, over £300 for both sides.

[edit] OK, cross referencing via the oracle of ebay, the citroen part numbers are 352382 - 352381 - 96083570
about £100 for a set.

Are the GSF ones on ebay any good at half the price?

Half as good? They (GSF) may offer "premium" grade ones in the way they do with some suspension hardparts.

I - or someone else - need to design a simple jigging board so the arm may be laid out and P bush started in correct alignment.

I'd be happy with that. The originals have lasted 190,000 miles, I don't think the rest of the car has another 95,000 left in it...
