this would wear both edges of any/all tyres underinflated as over inflation will wear the the center only,
C5Alan toeing out will wear both front tyres equally on the inside edges, so it sounds like the the person/fitter who did the tracking does not know what they are doing,

That's what I was thinking it would be both side but I hope he was capable of doing tracking just not what he was talking about

if he did not know what he was talking about chance's are he wont know how to do the tracking
was it one of them there tyre/exhaust shops or a proper garage,
went to fit new indicator lenses and noticed the passenger side tyre is looking bad again after about 8-900 miles so thought take it back they said it couldn't be the tracking but would take a look bottomed her out getting her on the ramp then went on to say there is no point in checking as wheels are too small. I told him he was talking out of his back side as they are the original wheels the tyres are a slightly bit smaller being 205 55 r15 instead of the 195 60 r15 and where on when I got the tracking done. In the end they said it cant be the tracking and didn't see a point in checking as it must be the suspension and I would need to take it to the dealership to get sorted. Then reversed the car off the ramp and back outside I wont be back with them again. I have used them so many times before and always had a great service but it was a different manager than there used to be.
So as the passenger side was wearing badly before and again is wearing worse than the drivers side outter edges what can be the problem N.B. the the rears seem to behaving themselves now and wearing correctly after a change of tyres, She is booked into a propper garage on wed to have a look who I have used in the past not the cheapest of places but has done a good job on previous cars before I started using specialist for the mercs.
Can anyone suggest anything else I can check before going to the garage????

Your tyres are quite incorrect, however, 205.55.15 must really be lost on a C5 as the standard 15" rims and tyres look like casters on the bottom of a sofa. Your car should have 195.65.15, so your current tyres are quite small for it. However, tyre size has nothing at all to do with odd tyre wear.
With their obvious knowledge in mind it would not surprise me if they have adjusted the tracking incorrectly. So getting that checked and adjusted again would be a good place to start.
You should check for wear in the susension joint and steering. Jack the car up, grab the wheel at each side and see if you can find play - often a knocking noise will be found, but if there is play you should be able to feel it. Then grab the top and bottom of the wheel and do the same.
There must be a serious problem if your wearing off tyres in 900 miles.
Can you hear any knocking or rattling over bumps?
How does the steering feel? Quite direct? Numb?
Does the car want to pick up lines in the road and follow them?

so both front tyres were fitted new and at the same time ?????
if yes then this IS NOT tracking out ( or it might be as well now they have fiddled with it ) but worn/damaged suspension bush's/arm/ lower swivel joints,
in which case they should not have fiddled with the tracking until these issues were sorted
,
It did have knoicking from front passengerside but this has gone since I had the drop links replaced.
Steering seems ok quite soft but I'm comparing it to the merc which now feels very heavy but I know is normal being a 30+ year old design as both my mercs where the same after 20 and 25 years of use. There is no wobble through the wheel and drives true but can follow the grooves on the motorway but what car doesn't?
Its going up on a ramp today and will get the mechanic to have a look and will give me an idea f what needs done for wither him or me to fix so we will see

Well garage can't find anything loose or worn apart from one track rod which he showed me so that is getting sorted and I'm getting the tracking done some where else just hope I haven't killed another pair of tyres
He did show me that the rear calipers are making contact with the alloys so they need to be taken apart and some rust removed where they join and copper greased up and refitted. He said this was a comon prob with C5's. Shouldn't this have been an advisory at least on an mot???? Oh well there goes all my moding money
