Filling Eolys reservoir

Post by Peter.N. »

I have decided to stay with my DPF for the time being but it needs some fluid, can anyone tell me how to go about topping it up, I am only reckoning on puting a litre in for the moment. I have seen kits on ebay, do I need one of these and how do I go about it?

Thanks

Peter

The C5 usually just has a lid on it in front of the n/s/r wheel, you simply fill the reservoir through this hole.
This will have no effect on your warning light if it is on though, as you need to tell the Ecu you have put some in by using Lexia. If the car has a green insert in the tank lid, you need Elloys 172, or the cheaper Pats fluid from Euro car parts, or gsf.
If the lid is white you need dpx42 fluid from Citroen or Peugeot only I think.

Thanks for that. I put the light out or at least the warning off with another members Lexia last time but hopefully I will have mine working soon. I will check the lid colour, its an early one so I think that uses the original fluid.

DPX42 is what you need Eolys 172 is only applicable to post 2004 cars as far as I know, unless the system has been upgraded :-) Filling it up isn't as easy as lifting a lid you will ned to break into the pipe work and fill it through that.
