Crappy Climate control and stupid hydractive

Post by citroenxm »

Hi all..

I had a borrow of a customers car last few days, one he had from me.. I forgot how LOVLY and smooth and soft "Normal" non hydractive suspension was... It was wonderfull... it wasnt till I got back in mine I realised how S++++!EE my exclusive was.

So firstly should I get some normal Non hydractive sphere to go on??? BEFORE you all shout I know shes not in hard mode because when I do press the S+@!e button on the dash she does go harder..

Repeat after me: I HATE hydractive, Hydractive is CRAP.....

Secondly, the heating in the car is also S+@!E... It either goes to MaX hot or cold on the heat slider.. Is this the Dash Temp sensor causing this. We either getting too stuffy or to cold.. Its not regulating the heat.

Thanks

You both want to fix the problem then its far nicer than non ha, you get a comfy car that doesnt fall over when you ask it to negotiate a roundabout.
have you had your exclusive on the Lexia and driven it to see when she is bringing sport mode on Paul? in my opinion a lot of hydractive cars are not stuck in haerd mode but are switching to it far too often, if that checked out ok have you checked Pressure reg output?

I left my Blue 2.1 Auto in Permanent soft mode, and its magic!!! Granted it does roll, but I like the Roll :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D Activas are a waste of time as well. It has Hydractive and extra pish to make it s**t!!    :-D :-D :-D :-D

Grumble, grumble, I only have 3 non hydractive cars in the list below!

Really a Hydractive should ride better, as thats what its designed for! I have always found the hydractive cars to offer a better ride then the normal ones. I also love hydractives as they give an excellent ride (they should do) and they can get tighter to drive once the going gets twisty. Its why I love Activas, as they do that (though granted not quite the same ride quality) but corner very nicely and I do like a good conrer!

Ive been in many non hydractives and many hydractives and I much prefer the hydractives. Plus, if you really want to make them soft by playing around with sphere pressures then you can but still maintain the body control thanks to the hydractive system. I really wish my C5 was fully hydractive.

Im NOT ASKING if hydractive is Crap or good, I KNOW its Sh+@!.... Im asking if normal spheres from an SX will be fun, or not? Fun is used as a word to describe extreamilly soft....

Sorry, but I couldn't agree less with you Paul

But yes, fitting corner spheres from a non-hydractive Xantia will give it a softer ride :-D Best of everything then

I believe both Jim and Richard have done this to their Xantias.

Clearly your car has a problem Paul, I can't believe how poor the ride is on a non Hydractive Xantia after wafting along in my two hovercrafts, non Hydractive Xantia's make me wonder why people bother with them when steel sprung cars can ride just as well without the hassle of hydraulics.

Yes, invariably its down to crud blocking the fan motor running or a large build up of crud on the sensor, try giving it a good blast of compressed air.

I have a better suggestion Paul.

2.1 Turbo SED. Get that Xantia weighed in. You have been messing about with them long enough, and out of your XM for too long.
