Retrofit Cruise control C5 2002

Post by Turbokillen »

Hi
Googled this topic for a while and I am trying to retrofit a cruise control on my C5 2,0 hdi 2002.
Have now installed a stalk /enabled RVV in Lexia and bought the red additional breakswitch sensor, however my car does not seem to have any room for the sensor, nor wiring.
I find the existing break sensor at the break pedal, and the additional is supposed to sit between that one like on the picture below right? on my car its just a marked X not even a hole for it to be fitted.

As for the wiring, I have big trouble to find wiring schematics for this car, looked in Haynes, Autodata googled and so on but nothing. :(
It seems I have only one cableconnection to the stalk, a blue connection, and there seems to be mising one cable connection in the middle to the right of the first cable connection just below the stalk.

Yesturday I got even more confused when going to the junk yard, I found a C5 with the 2.2 hdi engine and it had the cruice control option. When looking at this car it did not either have an aditional break sensor, same sa my car only a marked X on the place where I thought the switch was to be fitted...
Maby this 2.2 had a different type of cruise control with some combinated break swithc cruice switch.? or what is going on here? :)

Anybody know where to get som intel on the wiring of a cruice control for these cars?

Looks like you might already have the brake switch in place. I've fitted cruise to c5s and not had to fit the extra brake switch. Some need them some don't.

Fit the stalk into the comms unit (not need for any wiring) and enable it with the lexia in both option lists. Then give it a try. It needs setting on the lexia in the injection option and I think the comms too.

Yes as Chris suggests you have to enable cruise in the Injection menu as well as the BSI.

sorry to be confusing you guys too  but those pictures are as it is suppose to look, from some other fourm post, mine does not have the red sensor, only the white and there is not even a drilled hole to put the red one in, noor a cable to connect i t to :(

Also I only find and enabled the CC option with lexia 3 in the injection nothing in BSI? or is there som special practice to se the option in the BSI? got up alot of options of stereo and everything but no cruise control...

It's a while since I used Lexia on a C5 and as all car's have slightly different menu's go through each menu until you find cruise listed somewhere else as whenever I've done this there have always been two boxes that need to be enabled in order to get cruise to work. Having enabled cruise remember you then need to press 'programme' (or similar) and then enter code 03114 in order for the changes to take place/remain with the new settings.

Does your original brake switch have four wires or two ? if it has 4 wires then it is a dual function switch so you don't need a second one.

Thanks for the tip, I will have a look today.
If there are no wiring in my car I thought maby Connect the wires manually, but I cant find any wiring plans for CC. Anybody now how to get ahold of those?
maby Peguot has the same wiring as they have the same engine DW10ated and the same Stalk too...

I would try fitting the cruise stalk, enabling both cruise options in the lexia menu and the see if it works. If not then you need to worry about the brake switch.

Hi!

I also trying to to fit cruise control on my C5 HDI -01 but something missing. The stalk and the brake switch is in place and I have activated the CC in injection rvv. My problem is that I can´t find it in the BSI list. I think I have looking throw all the menu in Lexia but can´t see it anywhere. Is there anyone how have any idea what is missing. I can found the stalk end test the buttons in one menu in Lexia. Every button on the stalk seems to work. Is there some cars there it´s not possible to fit CC depending of the type of BSI computer fitted?

Happy for every idea hove to proceed with this.

Having clicked the relevant tags have you then clicked on the "programme" tag (normally found at the bottom of the screen)? You normally need to enter the following code to activate the change, 03114.

In the ECU i have done this but in BSI the problem is that I can´t find the Cruise Control at all. I find a long list with options but not the CC. Can it have anything to do with my version of Lexia ? It´s Lexia 3 I have.

It will be there somewhere but as I haven't looked at this ona C5 for a while I can't help you any more than to say I look through every menu until I find what I'm looking for, unfortunately the Lexia menu varies from car to car so having a good poke around may well be the way to go.

My Lexia was a v.47 and I think it´s the latest version. Most one I think have the v 45 or older versions. Is it possibly that Citroen has disabled the possibility to activate CC in the latest version of Lexia. I hard some rumours about that.
