c5 fuel filter

HI guys can anyone tell me where to find the fuel filter on a 03 1.8 petrol c5, I cant find it may be i am looking in the wrong place. Also while i am on i cant get the back lights on the mult-ifunction display to work i have replaced the bulbs no joy any help welcome.

It doesent have a replaceable fuel fiter, just a strainer in the tank.

The back lighting only works with the automatic headlight setting, or so does mine.
