help now the bonet wont open !!!

Hi again
just went to do a service on my newly bought 04 806 2.2hdi and i cant get the bonet open, it opened for me to inspect it before i bought it but not now.
the handel on the inside is fine but it must have broken at the other end , i have had the pliers on it inside the car and been pulling but to no end. anyone any ideas on how to get it opened without having to take the bumper off ???
