How much oxidisation/corrosion is there on the suspension elements? I admit to no idea about the use of road salt or grit in Denmark.

I'm with Jim on this, if you have all the parts handy (and Jim can tell you what you'll need) it doesnt add too much onto the job, the hardest part by a country mile is getting the damn thing out of the car, so don't do the hard bit twice :) and given that my 4HP20 died because of the lock up clutch in the Torque convertor fell to pieces i would never put a non-rebuilt item in. It may be fine now but who's to say the clutch won't break up in 5k's time. It seems harder than it is trust me. The parts for rebuild arent hugely expensive anyway :) To speed the job up you could always find a replacement Torque convertor to have refurbished so you can have everything sitting there neatly before you start....
