I don't know if I need it for sure yet but I've done a few sessions of Citaerobics and the ride is still a bit harsh. I watched the reflections of the lights yesterday when driving and it was like the car was rocking.
And the suspension sits lower at the rear with the engine off. It has a tool box and 2 subwoofers in the boot but I didn't think that was enough to drop it...

C5 models have a potentiometer arrangement for height correction. No hydraulics involved...

Mine sometimes feels a bit harsh, especially in comparison to previous Citroens (nothing like the GS).
Other times it seems fine though still inferior to previous models.

Mine is generally loaded up with crap in the luggage space and never sinks more than half an inch overnight and can be rear, front both or neither, completely random.

I do find that it rides better when heavily loaded and for a while after being seriously overloaded.

Great article for Xantia owners there. Might have a go at overhauling my height correctors ;)

Engine off/engine running mine still sits lower at the rear in the normal position. When it's dropped or in either of the raised positions it seems to be ok front to rear.
Just doesn't seem normal :-/

In a word no! the C5 uses a completely different system, the height sensor is a potentiometer, the correction is done in the BHI

If there are problems maintaining level ride on a C5 it is usually the potentiometer has worn or dirty tracks.
Or has suffered mechanical damage (impact from flying debris from the road).
It's a cheap and simple fix to replace. A new potentiometer is IIRC around £30 and takes about five minutes to change.
There is some allowance for mechanical adjustment but fine tuning requires a Lexia.
