Clutch judder, 1.4 C3.

Post by Patt »

Hi, I have recently aquired a 2003 C3 1.4 with a slightly juddering clutch. Careful driving can minimise this, but I don't want to pull it apart at present.
Has anyone any tips to "cure" it?
Thanks.

Not a very strong clutch in this car as its a relatively low output, the only cure will be a new one I am afraid.

if its juddery on take up it might be the bitting point is near the top of the peddle travle, in which case the clutch could be on its last legs,

i dont think the C3 had an ajustable cable or self adjusting or even hydraulic'ly operated,

if the later two it wont be adjustable, so a new clutch will be required,

if its like all the older TU engined cars its nit a very dificulte job at all,

Hi, thanks for that. It is hydraulic ,so self adjusting, and pedal movement is smooth and travel normal.
