Hydraulic pipework
Just got my xantia hdi back after it being towed to a garage by the RAC.The problem was a hydraulic leak from the rear cylinder (high pressure) pipe. As of now i am 100 quid poorer. The leak was quite substantial and needed 3.5 ltres of lhm to top up!Might be an idea to check your pipework.(weather permitting )I usually have a go at doing the jobs on the xantia myself but didnt fancy getting frozen to the driveway.Anyway, are the hydraulic pipes a straight forward diy job and if so what are the required tools for the job.Cheers.

Re: Hydraulic pipework
Providing access is OK then it's a straightforward job if you have the correct pipe, fittings and Citroen flare tool. A tool can still be bought new but you'd be looking at well over £100 for a tool that does 3 sizes.
This type of thing but with the correct Citroen dyes.
Pleiades still supply some items but not the flaring tools I'm told.
Steve.

Best flaring tool on the planet is the Sykes Pikavant, the pro one not the simple versions.

Re: Hydraulic pipework
Thanks for the replies. Im putting it on my to do list for when the weather is a bit better. I had to use my motorbike for work (-3c and freezing fog !) whilst the car was in for repair. Not much fun at my age. Thanks again.
