Xantia Stop light showing

Are there any other reasons why the STOP light would be showing on a Xantia when driving, obviously other that suspension/fluid issues??

Basic situation is got a mate to look at a Xantia Hdi for me (distance thing), and he says the STOP light was on whilst driving. Could just need a top up of fluid, but just wondered if there were any other reasons why this might happen.
As far as he could see there were no LHM leaks etc.

It will be low LHM level, Low LHM pressure, Low coolant Level, High coolant temp, Low engine oil pressure, think thats it.

Usualy the stop lamp will come on with another warning light but if its just the stop lamp its probably low LHM level.
