Picasso heater

Post by Ged »

Hi everyone just joined the forum so hope i have posted this in the correct place. I,m trying to repair a friends heater 2001 picasso. Could,nt get any heat in the car, eventually i took the steper motor off the flap on drivers side and if i manually rotate the lever the heat is fine. But i,m not sure a new motor would fix it because also the air position button on the dash won,t alter where the air is sent to. as it will only blow out of the dash vents and not on the feet, so wondering if there is something else that goes wrong. many thanks in advance. If they are the same motors as the XM uses they are prone to failure although they usually go intermittent first. Check the reisistance of it, should probably be less than 100 ohms. Also check that there is voltage across the motor when you operate the control, if not you could have a common power supply failure.
