synergie question

Post by dave2011 »

hi guys. ive got a p reg synergie and since ive owned the car the interior lights have never worked when the doors are opened........ the middle and right hand side interior map lights in the front dont work due to the switches been knackered and the rear light in the tail gate panel don,t either.could this be the reason there not working? like christmas tree lights.....1bulb goes out n the rest do lol.the back of the car is really dark due to the tinted windows in the back so its a pain to get the kids seat belts on.any ideas guys? there is a light in the headlining in the boot but only works when the ignition is on the first click and dont work on the doors open setting. cheers all 8-)

im sure there not like chribo tree lights, first thig to sort would be the door switch's, the tail gate one could also be a broken wire between the body and tail gate,
if this fails you can either buy one of those LED strapon head lamp or just leave the kids loose to bounce around the back of the car, like it apears most peaple do  [-X

Can you replace it with a similar one?
I had a mercury switch on the Volvo to operate a light over the engine when the bonnet was raised but mercury switches are probably no available any more.
Maplin's has one that may suffice

Bear in mind that these Synergye things are Fiat based, and therefore could EVEN be Itailian electrics or at least italian design and setup...

Not a Citroen error for a change, though extreamilly simmilar!

As far as I know Scudo, relay, expert, synergie-evasion, C8, 806,807, and Ulysse are all PSA with all PSA components (Sevel Nord). The only thing that resembles a Fiat component is the front ARB droplink.
Ducato Relay and Boxer are Fiat (Sevel Sud). Engines can be from Fiat (Sofim-Iveco) PSA or Ford. The badge doesn't always let you know. 2.0HDI = 2.0JTD = PSA. 2.2 can be PSA but is the Ford Transit engine after the 2006 facelift.
2.3, 2.8 & 3.0 are all Sofim engines.
In the Mk1 Ducato you got fiat engines i.e. 2.5 dont know if 2.8 was available.
The Talbot express had a 2.5 Citroen engine. I think the peugeot & the Citroen models got the same.
There was also a Fiat 1.9 and the PSA XUD engine in certain models.

Don't know of any that far south :)

I generally use Town Centre Citroen in Sunderland of Springfield Citroen in Gateshead.
There is Croxdale (in Croxdale :roll) ) but they are said to be expensive and snooty, no first hand experience though.
There must be one in the Tees area that would be better though.

Actually there are dealers in Middlesborough, Stockton and Darlington that may be a suitable alternative.
I may be wrong but seem to recall that Chris (citroenmad) wasn't impressed with Evans Hallshaw in Hartlepool.
