alspo i wouldnt wait for the belt to break as it will almost certainly take out the cam belt as well,
if you remove the aux belt and make a mark with tipex then mesure all the way round from tipex mark and back to the same point, this will tell you the length then count the ribs which wil probably be 6,

Yes, they're a 6 rib belt and the size to get will be, after marking and measuring as you suggest Malcolm, will be a 6PK<measured size in mm>. So if you measure the belt as say 1725mm then you need to get a 6PK1725. Good factors sell them by size.
EDIT. Get new cam covers ASAP. It's dangerous without them. They're available from stealers and not expensive either. Definitely cheaper than an engine rebuild...
