I had to file a couple of mm off the inside of one of the opening lugs on my previous BX. Problem is that the lead alloy that the original clamp's made of is quite soft, and presumably suffers creep over it's life, especially if overtightened. I'm careful not to overtighten nowadays

i just gently open the gap and file some of the matting surface away at both sides,
that is if the lead has not split were the bolt goes through,

File or hack- gets the same result :)
