C5 Seats and Door Cards

Post by lakanooky2 »

Hi Everyone
Well new to this site, but have owned 3 Xantia's in the past and still have one on the road.
My Question is:-
Will the seats out of a MK1 C5 fit in the C5 facelift ie 2004 -2008 also will the door cards fit as well.
Thanks Mark

Citroenmad our residant C5 man should be able to answer in detail when he arrives.. Is this the "Mk.1 car with later C4 headlights and extended boot lights" you are meaning??

I would of though S1 seats would fit in as they are still the same basic layout inside from what I can see....

Best wait for better advice though

Cheers Jim
Thanks Paul, yes it is the C5 with the C4 Headlights, ( i had to search google for C4 HEADLIGHTS).. wow did not know you could get them in BLACK.
So i guess the C5 line up goes
Mk1 2001 - 2004 = S1
Mk1 facelift 2004 - 2008 = S2
Mk2 2008- TBA = S3
Is that right or have i got my S's in the wrong place ?

We say mk 1. . 2000 to 2004
then s1.5 from 2004 to 2008..
Then s2 (audi shape) is the proper s2...

(dates not accurate)

Progress so far :-
Been a busy lad today, i now have Leather Interior and door cards for the C5 S1.5 ... i just hope it all fits.
Will find out the hard way in the next couple of days.
Also got a new OEM radio (as old one would not even turn on) but its beeping at me so i guess i need to get it on a Lexia oh well.

Re: C5 Seats and Door Cards

Citroen refer to the models as C5I (2001-2004) C5II (2004-2008) and C5III for the new germanic one (2008-). I tend to stick with that :) However the C5II can cause some confusion so is often better known as a 'facelift'.

As for your question, well I dont know!

So the seats and the door panels look identical and im 95% sure they will fit, however I have not tired S1 seats in my S2. Why are you wanting to change the interior? out of interest, I suspect you want to put in leather seats?

If so, my only concerns would be the electrics for the seats, they should really be the same and all the buttons are on the seats themselves. I believe some C5 leathers didnt have heated seats but all were electrically adjustable. So they would need wiring in, perhaps the original loom already accomodates these extra wires. If not it might not be too hard to wire in, just keep in mind its a multiplexed car so you don't want to be tapping into wires you don't know about.

Ive been thinking about fitting a leather interior to mine, however ive not done it yet as wiring is not my forte and I wouldnt know where to start if I needed to wire them in. I need to look into where they would connect to and if there is already a loom to take the plugs on the seats. Ive also not found a smart enough set to match the car, most seem to be from earlier S1s which will have more wear and tear and be looking a bit tired.

If I do get a leather interior I wont be swapping the door cards. As cars with leather interiors dont get leather door cards, just black felt like material on the doors. Also the S2 and some S1 cars have a detailing trim along the top of the door card. This is carried through the centre of the dash on the C5II and so wont match the door cards, as most leather cards have either black or even wooden effect trim. My C5 VTR has silver trim on the doors and dash and a black black material on the original door cards. SO that would suit fine with a leather interior. Depending on what model C5II yours is and what colour the interior is, it might be an idea to do the same.

If its not for leather interior then you should have no problems in fitting it, nothing major in the interior changed between the two cars and so the seats and door cards should fit straight into a C5II from a C5I.
