c5 spheres

Post by kris h »

hi all just fitted new spheres front and back to c5 , but now the ride seems very jiggly , bought the spheres from ihfs stamped with manufacture date as of may this year. pressure for front 57 bar pressure for back 44 bar ride is not as floatly as would have liked, seems worse at the back car is estate 110 sx diesel. old spheres done high miles at 136000 changed them as car was behaving strangely at speed checked all other suspension bits ,so i thought would treat the french tart to a new set of boules   now she drives like an audi on a bad day :!: so just wondered if it could be a ride height problem or dodgy spheres low pressure perhaps :!: is there any way to measure ride height at home & have not touched anti roll bar clamp cheers all kris
ive tried the rest and citroen is best

57Bar ? that sounds to me like 2.2 sphere which would on a 2.2 work in conjunction with a centre sphere which you will not have on the 2.0Ltr. Maybe wrong as I don't currently have access to my sphere chart but I am 95% sure that I am correct.

That sounds a little odd, you have got the ones for a non hydractive C5 and not a fully hydractive 3+ version?

If its worse with the new spheres then something is not right with them, perhaps the damping of that particular brand of sphere is not correct or pressure is not as it should be.

Height wise, you should notice by looking at it to see if it sits right. You could measure it and then against another C5, though you would probably notice the car looking too high or low for it to effect the ride quality.

How hard were they to change, I got the fronts ready for fitting. Not got round to fitting yet as I am worried about bleeding problems because I have no Lexia thingy.

Not very hard at all, put the car into low, remove the old spheres and put on the new ones, ensuring there is a good or new seal in there.
