Thanks Rhothgar,I was down GSF last weekend. Ended up with Brembo brakes at the standard price! Discs, pads, two anti roll bar drop links and a tub of copper slip for less then 100 quid. Happy days!

VERY HAPPY DAYS! I should say. Should last you a while!Stepto1 wrote:Discs, pads, two anti roll bar drop links and a tub of copper slip for less then 100 quid. Happy days!
I'm going to do brakes all round in mine when I've sourced cheap genuine parts. Did the drop links a few months ago with Lemfoerder ones from Euro Car Parts. They are OEM. Made the world of difference. Ahhhh! Silence!

See you have Series 1 Landy. only one I know if in Nottingham and that's Woodborough way.
Got a Series 2 myself. '59, I'm 2nd owner from new and 64k genuine. Originally owned by Caterpillar. It's a pick LWB. Still with original livery. A rare find!

It's up in Mapperley at the mo 'resting'. Needs a new engine really. Hope to have it on the road soon. Brakes seem to be ok now. Still not convinced all is well though in that department. Drop links made things much better. Now a new problem has cropped up. See new posting!

Heh, no, definitely not. I've had a couple. Standard T16S is bad enough - hilarious fun, but relaxing? No. Lag, wheelspin - in 4th in the wet if you really try. Sweet handling, unless you get boost mid corner.Rhothgar wrote: and have a 900 turbo T16S sitting on my drive. Not a relaxing car to drive!
My second T16 was based on a K-Plate 4 door LPT. 900. Got hold of a T16 that had been rear-ended and transplanted all the bits into the LPT. It then got had big injectors, an uprated FPR and a modified APC box. It got set of uprated dampers and springs, Black diamond discs and pads. It showed 231BHP on the rolling road.. Now, that *was* an interesting beast to drive. It was 4 door saloon, it had a set of Aero alloys, but other than that looked like a standard LPT, down to the badging. It would see off my mate's Boxster though..

Hi SteptoStepto1 wrote:Cheers for that SaabC5. Just thought I might start changing the oil a bit more frequently and change the filter every time. Still fancy an Activa. Or always had a soft spot for a 9000?
Mines a diesel I know but just gone over 150k miles and owned now for 11 years. A couple of years ago I went over to changing the oil and filter every 3000 miles and collecting parts where possible. Keeping up with the coolant is a good idea as someone said as with older cars cooling is key
Hold on to the old ones as they're the best

It never fails to astound me how a standard T16S (Or SPG as it was badged in the US - Special Performance Group) could be so downright quick for only 175/185bhp and then I remember that Saab were the pioneers of bringing the first mast produced Turbco charged car to market and they've never failed to impress since.
Shame they've died as a company. Died in 1994 in all honesty when GM took over.
