Xantia Berline or Break?

Post by marsalek »

Hello everybody, am in two minds which Xantia to buy: Berline or Break. Which one has better riding comfort, which is easier to drive? What about parking and rear view? Before I had a Berline and liked its shape, but might need more space for kids that we expect to have within 2 to 3 years. What are your opinions?
Best regards, Karel

If I had the choise - I'd instantly go for the Break - simply for the more spacy inner - ESPECIALLY if planning for family growth.
(BTW : all the best on your family plans [;)])

I'll second that. The break (estate over here) boot is a great place to change nappies.
As for parking etc. The break is longer but doesn't have the annoying blind spots caused by the C pillars on the saloon.

Estate (Break) definietly. If you take little tots bikes etc the roof line is lower at the back in the saloon. You can get a lot more in the estate. I had a BX saloon & after 2 years switched to the estate as it was a lot more flexible.
I'm actually likely to be looking for a Xantia estate for my wife soon.

Thanks folks for your opinions, I also find break more "usable", and although the saloon is nicer, I decided to buy myself a break. Nevertheless the prices of Xantias has rapidly grown since last winter (in 12/2002 I bought X2, 40 t. km, 1/2001 for 11500 EUR and now similar cars cost between 13000 and 14000 EUR). Looks like a big hunger for Xantias ;-)
