Xantia Electric Seat Switchs

Post by citroenxm »

Hi all..

I have a small problem. I have put in a set of leather which I purchased from a fellow FCF member, and the reciving car which was an X reg SX (The blue one that was in my Xantias Available posting, now removed) already had the electric plaugs under the manual seats for the power.... this musy get fitted at the same time rear electric windows are fitted, IE SX cars upwards.. IIRC my first T reg SX also had the plugs under the seats, yet the W reg LX did not.

Anyway, my problem, the drivers seat recline does NOT work.. it slides and goes up and down but thats all..

Ive checked the plug under the seat for the recline motor and when the switch is pushed there appears to be no power there.. So my Q is, how does the Switch House in the side of the seat come out for me to have a look at the switch contacts??

Thanks
Paul

Are those the seats you bought from me Paul? If so all the switches did work :?

I take it all of the underseat connectors are pushed home?

Anyway is the recline adjuster switch lever pushed home as it needs to connect with the toggle inside the switch itself. To remove the whole switch assembly there's a couple of spring clips accessed from the rear/underside of the seat. When removed from the seat the assembly can be dismantled down to its last part but be mindful that there are a number of small rollers and springs inside, some of the switches are available individually from Citroen.

Thankyou richard for the headup.... Removed the switch panel this evening and haf a look.. I then discovered the lumber pump switch and recline switch share the same positive feed that is joined in a conduit sleeve... The soldered join had failed!! Hence the lumber and recline not working.. Re sopdered the join and hey presto...

All sorted.

Cheers
