C5 sinkage rate

Post by Norlander »

How long should it be before a C5 (mk.1) -- that's been locked with the button-key
-- sinks slightly, though noticeably, at the front?

Not sure that it should sink at all. But as you say ''it only sinks slightly'' I wouldn't think you need to worry. I would however check the LDS level. It might need topping up !

Mine pumps up the front when opening a door after about two hours of sitting.
It’s had times of looking low after 20 minutes, and that came good since without adding LDS. :?

Mine slowly sinks overnight and goes up as soon as i open a door. I do however leave it on the high setting overnight as my parking is governed by a huge speed hump i have to go over to access my parking space.

Mine does it sometimes - I watched it today and as soon as I locked it with the plip the front settled slightly. I reckon it's always done it.

Some C5s do sit slightly at the front when parked overnight. It should never be sitting low by too much, usually about half an inch if anything. Our eldest C5 does it, but as soon as its unlocked it raises to normal.

Same as happens here.....
ours has an 02 plate, yours a 52 -- wonder if it's typical of the earlier C5s.
