gearbox oil

Post by 411514 »

For a 2003 c5 2.0 hdi manual i belive citroen recommend Total BV 75W – 80W gearbox oil,
Is this correct, is this the best stuff to use, it appears to be mineral based,
Would there be any benefit (in terms of long life and smooth operation),
to using some of the newer more pricey fully synthetic oils out there, (any suggestions)
Thanks sam

as far as im aware the BV spec gear oil was specialy produced for PSA gear box's,

and it seems detrimental to put anything elss in there,

it also is far more dosh than the run of the mill gear oil, but if other types cause damage to you box it aint worth useing them,
