xsara 2.0hdi fans running constantly

Post by Danbrown26 »

Hello all,
can anyone bare some light on why my cooling fans are running all the time, they run with engine on but not ingnition only, its a 2000 2.0hdi 90bhp, this model only has a single coolant temperature sensor so ive kinda ruled that out as everything else is ok (no warning lamps and temp reads fine). if i pull the fuse (21) for the air con it kills the fans, now im lost,

Thanks

If the direction is set to demist, chances are it's calling for AC. hence the fans are on all the time - normal!

It depends on the car wether the A/C light comes on or not, on a xantia it doesent, on a mk 2 xsara it definitely does. Either way if you turn the blowers off it should cut the A/C & therefore the cooling fans.
