If you don't need an estate, can live with 25-30 mpg, and there are no untoward noises from the autobox - or evidence of a re-build, then yes!

Cruise control fitted yes - working, maybe....

As much as I dearly love my V6, I'd never swap an HDi for one, ever....

Can you not run a V6 for pleasure and keep the HDi for the daily grind?

Richard has the main points of the V6 covered? If it's done getting on for 15,000 with no evidence of a gearbox rebuild or regular changes, be afraid, very afraid...

Apart from the gearbox, the V6 is bomb-proof...

If you want a full blow-by-blow checklist of things to check then let me know..

Cruise rarely works but it's mostly easy to fix...

Has your car been looked at by a Citroen specialist in Sheffield ? Has the Hdi clocked a few miles up ? The V6 sounds like it could be a beauty but as a daily driver ??? If you get the V6 don't forget to post some pics pls

I used a V6 as my daily driver for two years. Having said that my daily commute to work and back was only 12 miles and running around amounted to perhaps another 30 miles per week so it was absolutely fine. Still seemed to need to visit the petrol station once a week though...

In the HDi, now very much my daily driver, I reckon visits to refill with diesel will be a monthly special occasion :)

One thing I will say about the V6 is that it's a solidly reliable car, as dependable as a rock :-D

I think you need to find a new garage. With this attitude they have excellent odds of faffing up a V6...
