Citroen C5 help

Post by 411514 »

I am currently doing a big service on the 2003 c5 2.0 hdi,
I am doing timing belt/aux belt/waterpump/coolant, I have a few questions which im hoping some of you may be able to answer,
In the haynes it states that the coolant capacity is almost 11 litres, however i have been flushing it and
can only ever get about 8 litres in and out, is the capacity really 11 litres or is haynes wrong.
Also haynes points to the existence of a crankcase drain plug, however i cannot find one and
can only drain it using the rad hose and bleed screws, is haynes wrong again about the crank drain
plug, does it matter?
This is quite possibly aimed at member (dsney) who i know has recently done this same job, are there
any problems i need to look out for, cheers all, sam
Sam

The drain plug is on the back of the block but even removing it won't drain a huge amount out of the system, I wouldn't worry if you can't find it. Some of the 'lost capacity' will be down to the heater matrix and various nooks and crannies.
