Post by rich201283 »

My brother has a relay van an it sound very knockey on idle until you rev it, Is this normal, i have read other places that a software update may be needed.

Also i belive it is the tdci engine from ford, How reliable and what type of mileage can you expect out of them?

my freind just had to have a brand new engine stuck in his 08 plate relay 2.2 ford lump van,

the dealer said an injector had faild which killed the engine,

£7K ish later/lighter

it had a 3 year dealer warenty which two of coverd every thing then the third year was main components up to 1000K,

he had done 130K but citroen did cover £3K,

only a month earlier they had to fit a new EGR valve, now about three months on they have fitted another new EGR valve,
very strange i thought,

Not really, the new transits with that engine eat EGR valves, ford have tried lots of things, modified valves, adding water cooling to the valves, software updates but they still seem to suffer from EGR problems.
