Nothing new to many of you but in my deprived life I've never owned and ABS-equipped car until now.
It's causing some problems. Or is it?
Basically, on occasion I get a sensation of buzzing at the pedal. Now I know that some cars in the past has pedal feed back for ABS and that others didn't (all the ABS-ing was done at the calipers) but I'm not sure if the Xantia is supposed to give a sensation at the pedal. Is it?
If not then I guess there's MORE air in the LHM again.
If yes, then the ABS is occasionally kicking in at times when there's no locking happening.
The brakes still work but are certainly sharper some times. Still getting the tail end lifting up for the first few miles of a journey - remember: I've bled the heck out of the brakes!
Any ideas here?
Xantia ABS.

Re: Xantia ABS.
Get it on a lexia and have passenger check that the speed of all 4 ABS sensors are accurate.
I had problems with mine due to a sensor which tested fine but below around 10mph gave false readings.
Also check the ABS rings are not cracked.

Re: Xantia ABS.
Cheers Dave, mine is an early Mk1 Xantia - do these have a socket for Lexias?
Also is the sort of buzzz at the pedal an ABS feedback?

Yes. Xantia MK I has a brown 30-pin diagnostics connector, placed next to the fuses.
As davetherave noted, check the rings. If a ring cracks, the ABS will make a fault reading, when you are under ~10-20 mph. It feels like the breakes don't work the last meter before full stop.

Which is why my HDi currently sports a cracked number plate and bumperCarsten S wrote:It feels like the breakes don't work the last meter before full stop.
The rings are freely available and easy to fit. Bake them at gas mark 7 for 30 mins and then gently tap them on...
