I'll correct Chris slightly here, if you are buying a 2.1, make sure its a XM!!!

Its the bloody insureance thats the problerm. My lagunas in groupe 9. This is in group 11

Have you had a quote on one? You might be surprised that its not much more, Xantias seem to be in high insurqance groupings but dont always work out more expensive.

Yes i put 3 no claimes in started it on feb. The 2.1td easte was cheaper then a 1.9 td and a 1.9 sd For some reason i hope theres one about in febuary

I just bought a 2.1, 1997, 10 months MOT 105K miles, beautiful condition in deep metalic red for 270 pound, needs 2 front spheres AFAIK, I travelled from Wigan to Kent to buy it mind, I didnt realise they were so thin on the ground, I have trade insurance so it wasnt an issue, very happy with the car itself

I had seen that red 2.1TD on ebay, it looks a very smart car, a good find

Petrol Lagunas often sell ok as the diesels are a bit ... but you've have no interest?
Have you got it in as many advertising places as possible? Local papers etc might be a good bet.

Last year I bought a P reg Laguna 2.2 TD for 350 quid, it was the estate with 17" alloys on, it looked really nice, drove really nice, I ran it on WVO for months, it was a nice looking car, very practical and went well, almost as good as the 2.1 Xantia, the MOT ran out and Id picked up a lovely V70 TDi so I ended up scrapping the poor Laguna, I got more than my money back after I sold the CAT and the Alloys I had made well over 400 notes, I like the shape of the early Lagunas, not keen on the newer ones, had a fair few Lagunas, one before the TD was a 2.0 petrol, top of the range jobbie, leather, air con etc, one before that I got at auction for 160 pound, I only bought it because I missed out on the Xantia before it, but when I went to collect it from the pound, it was a 3.0 V6 Auto! I swapped it for a Jag, that V6 went like an aeroplane
