New Old Stock Spheres Do Keep!

Post by CitroJim »

We had a new consultant start with us at work yesterday. He became aware of my interest in Citroens and it reminded him of a sphere he had in his garage. He brought it in today and gave it to me. It was an Amtex rear centre Hydractive he bought in 2001 for the XM he then owned but had never fitted because the old one wouldn't budge...

He assumed it would be useless by now and was going to throw it away...

Guess what? On test it registered as still having 46 of it's original 50 bars nicely present and correct :D

Even more, I bagged a couple of genuine Activa rear corners on eBay and these, according to the boxes were even older, being 1998 vintage. Both tested absolutely perfect!

So there it is, so long as the spheres are unused, they do keep for very long periods...

They do indeed, our garage is stocked up well with spheres and they all keep the pressures.
