Oh no, not again!
This is my GF's 2nd Xantia. She has neck and spinal injuries and finds the smooth ride to be beneficial when driving. Her 1st one broke a clutch clip and I managed to repair it for her. How I'm not quite sure as I'm 6'3" and not too flexible (I'm 52 now as well). I do remember I never managed to get the spring back on properly but It didn't seem to matter that much.
Anyway, that car had to go for one reason or another, and she recently decided to get another
Unlike the 1st one, this a Mk2, a 1.9TD SX Estate. (Different Clutch mechanism?)
I really don't feel I could cope with the angst involved in sorting this one out, especially given that the Mk2 is more difficult( I think) with the automatic adjustment.
We don't have enough money to pay a Citroen Stealer to do it, so I'm wondering if anyone here can give her a price to do it instead. The car is in Folkestone, Kent.
Any offers of help for the poor girl? (I mean both my GF and the car!)
Thanks for any feedback.
Peter

You're not too far from Malcolm (citronut) in St. Leonards-on Sea.
I'm sure he would be delighted to quote you a price and you can be absolutely certain he knows his way around Citroens

OK, OK, so you're trying to say I'm nowhere near old enough to be pulling out of this job! But last time I came away feeling five years older than when I started it - and I feel I'm ageing too fast already!
Malcolm, thats very kind of you, will send a PM shortly. My GF is wondering if you have a sister called Stella? She seems to remember going to school with a girl who's parents owned the pottery...

There's a sizable number of us who are 52 then 1959 was a good year...
You're not a fully-paid up member of the Xantia spannering club until you've done a clutch clip, a heater matrix AND an Activa exhaust manifiold gasket
My bloody back lets me know how old I am sometimes
Doing a heater matrix this weekend, reassembling the front end of an XM and replacing the auxiliary belt on my V6 has left me in no doubt

With so many in our early 50's I wonder if there is a shared musical heritage.
I was at a recent gathering of the roughly 50 ish club otherwise known as a Nearly Dan concert at the Sage Gateshead.
Really it was like having Steely Dan play in your front room.
They are at "The Stables" at Milton Keynes if anyone knows it on October 8th.
Well worth it
Apologies nowt to do with clutch clips!
Neil
