Time to do the Xantia mods....

Post by Stepto1 »

Well, the time has come to do the electrical mods to my S1 1.8 16v Xantia. My heater control has given up the ghost, as has the heated rear window. While I had the Multimeter out I tested the supply to the headlights. I've got 14.12v at the battery but only 11.97v at the lamps. Time to buy some relays!

Other then these little problems the Xantia is doing ok. She's just done 94,000 miles and still doesn't use a drop of oil and does 35 mpg on a run. She towed a small boat to Wales and back and even managed to launch and recover it off the beach twice.

By the time I got back the exhaust had split at the cat and the next day it sprang a haudralic leak at the pump. A new exhaust was 150 quid fitted including cat and the car revs much better now. The rubber pipe had just split at the end so no drama.

Fingers crossed the mods go ok, any tips?

Kind regards, Stepto.
