zx clutch

Post by froggy »

Hi, Iam about to change the release bearing on the clutch of my zx .
Someone said yesterday that I would be better to change everything including the clutch itself ! Is this good advice? cheers Terry

Unless you like taking gearboxes out for fun, or the clutch is relatively new, it makes good sense to stick a full clutch kit in while you're there.

I'd say its very good advice unless the clutch is recent or has very little wear taking into account the amount of work required to get to the release bearing.

Twas me I think.

Yes its worth changing the clutch too really. There's only really three parts and the release bearing is one of them.

I'd suspect the noise is either bad luck or the previous owner / garage etc did not change the bearing last time.

its false econemy not to fit the complete clutch kit, also i think most suppliers dont garantee inividualy supplied/fitted components,
