zx clutch sqeal !

Hi. my 1995 zx , has developed a nasty , very loud clutch sqeal, only makes the noise when the clutch is depressed. any body got any ideas? cheers Terry.

Its probably the release bearing dried up. A new one or a new clutch assembly will be needed.

The clue here is the fact its only noisy when you have depressed the pedal.

How difficult is it to fit a new clutch assembly ? never done this sort of thing before. is this a garage job ? many thanks Terry

I wouldn't rate a DIY clutch job as easy. You have to remove the gearbox to access it, so that requires both some decent kit, a suitable working space and a little time up your sleeve.

As to possibility, it therefore depends on your facilities and prior experience. :)
