Xantia Fuel sensors?

I've just got my car back this evening and im waiting on my local Citroen dealership to get back to me with a price for the fuel sensor(s).

The problem is when i throw a few quid in the needle will say the car is full and then the light will come on and say its nearly empty...

Anybody know how much the part should cost me,before i get fleeced

Also the trip reset button doesn't work,i.e When you push the button nothing happens,almost as if it's pushed in as far as it can go it won't reset the mileage when you've filled up ,apparently the only solution is to replace the clock(odometer) with a new part and thus starting on 000,000 miles

I was sceptical

Any help appreciated

you mean the sender unit Dave?
how much was it?

I have a gauge that now doesn't go below a 1/4 of a tank, and I dont get the reserve light anymore..

If i take the sender out of the tank, the gauge works fine.. I am wondering if I have bent the rod with the float on, so that it no longer drops down to empty.. but if that was the case I wouldnt keep running out of fuel.!..

It'll almost certainly be down to the fuel sender unit in the tank, I had exactly the same symptoms with my Activa. I'm not sure on the price but they easily obtained so shouldn't be too expensive.

They never got me a price for the part that i need

Instead she got back to me for 2 ABS sensors which they wanted €254 for parts and "labour"

Quite laughable really when i can get both sensors for £60 off ebay

I haven't been able to find one for a 1.9 TD as of yet

No that one has a pump, the TD one doesn't.
