for the hassle it'll be to change the head uni i'd rather put a decent one in.
yes it'll work but only to a point.
get an aftermarket one with steering wheel controls and you're laughing

Sony MP40 is a reasonable headunit that will go in, and work with the controls (using some extra link cables) . plays MP3 cd's
there was another sony that would go in CDX50 or something.. and probably these days a whole load more units from different manufacturers, that may work
you wil need a £2 blanking plate, as the original unit is bigger than the standar DIN size
hope that helps

Re: anyone fitted a saxo cd player to a Xant??
They were fitted as standard to some later Xantias, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem... Some of the ones you find on ebay won't have the connector on the back for the steering wheel controls so ask before you buy.Timmo wrote:Morning all!

Thanks guys, much appreciated,
i looked at the sony hu before, not my cup of tea, when i had tihe silly system in my 309gti and the bx was a kenwood hu man,
Is also the difference between £20 or £50-70 for a decent used hu, plus £30 for the patch cables and fascia!
I'll ask about remote cable controlls on the ones I've saved
