Sort her out Paul, when setting our date I went through many different calenders to make sure the date didn't clash with any known events, sporting or otherwise, even if it wasn't of interest to me and we set the date just eight weeks prior to the big day. Get a grip man, the excuses are coming out before you're even married!

Yes I do remember the Top Gear programme Dickie same question again except for is there an answer to this riddle " Do XM's loose BHP over time"? I guess no-one has had one on a rolling road to judge whether or not they do loose some power but I wouldn't mind betting they do after 5 years or so.DickieG wrote:I take you recall the Top Gear program of the three super cars and the tale of lost horses

I'd say all engines will start to lose some power after 70-100k miles if only from carbon build up on the back of vales disturbing gas flow through the engine, how much will depend upon many factors such as original design and how the engine is used, fuel etc etc.
The only true way to find out would be to test a new engine then again much later in its life as engines do vary in output from new, for instance in 1983 I bought a new XR3i then had it rolling road tuned a year or so later where it was found to be producing 3.5 bhp more than Ford specify. The tester was very surprised that I hadn't modified it as in his experience similar engines were generally down by 5 or more bhp from Ford's specification so my car was 8.5 bhp up right from the start so for a scientific experiment it would have to be along the lines I mention above.
Glad to hear that at last I have a claim to fame re your spell checker

My goodness, I think this thread claims the "Drifted Furthest Off Topic of the Month" award
Back on topic, Will and I did indeed establish communications and met up at Leicester Services where a small FCF Couriers transaction took place and Will gave my new XM project a good once-over
