fuel leak from under xantia

hi Fueled up car yesterday, xantia 19td 1994 developed a serious fuel leak from under car - pipes alongside fuel tank called the aa turned out to be the rubber seal on the fuel sender unit/fuel gauge inside the car topped tank up to brim? waiting to order part tomorrow thought I'd mention the problem car parked up unable to use. peter walsh[V]

Sounds unusual for this to leak. The normal problem in this area is the vent pipe on top of the tank splitting. The fuel then covers the top of the tank and runs down wherever it can. Still waiting to get mine sorted
