Is it? Bearing in mind that C6's are so few and far between the demand for spares is going to be very low (apart from the satnav) so whoever buy its will have to store the car/spares for however long waiting for another one to crash. That brings about another problem with repairing it, how much a new bonnet with their pyrotechnics's? Not to mention airbags all being bought from Citroen, ouch!

Now that is very interesting...

York isn't that far away and I've moved 4 cars with front ends like that before....

Tempted is an understatement...

Wonder where I could hide it without my fiancé finding out!?

Didn't you recently sell your C6 because you didn't like it?

MMM this is interesting and i was thinking of making a bid as i too have done the odd Cat C car from these people but there is a problem with this one, the body panels will live again given enough working but its going to need suspension parts at least along with the stuff that was torn off the bottom when it went off the road, then the stuff that was torn off the bottom when they winched it on to the road again, then the stuff that was crushed when they moved it about with the forklift like they do.
now on any other car, a boxster or M5 or an old Astra even its fine because you will find loads of cheap bits but how many cheap bits are about for a 3.0 C6 i wonder?....................well ive looked on all the usual sites and i cant find anything for a C6...............at all, this car is perfectly repairable but if you have to go to citroen for the parts

I've just registered on the salvage auction.

They want a non refundable joining fee of £50 before you're even allowed to bid.

The other salvage site that I've bought cars off in the past has been free of charge.

Hmm... Not sure I'm prepared to waste £50 on the off chance that the car won't fetch silly money.

yes the £50 is a bit of a risk but they do get some nice cars in there, still not worth buying an accident damaged C6 though.

Well I just tried to register with Copart - Never in my life have I had to deal with a company as useless as them!

Told them that I wanted to bid on a car that finishes on Thursday, explained that I needed to fax my proof of ID to them but they won't accept it.

They need originals posted to head office 24 hours before the auction ends.

I don't have time to do that. I can't go and register at the local branch tomorrow as I'm away delivering the XM to Jim and if I take my details in on Thursday morning they can't guarantee that my application would be approved in time to bid....

I offered a credit card statement and a bank statement for proof of address... This won't suffice. It has to be the original copy of a Gas, Electricity, Landline etc. This is a nightmare these days as every company does online billing!

Do they actually want to sell cars!?

Their requests are probably to do with reducing fraud/theft of vehicles, their parts and the ringing of vehicles by making you more traceable.

I sympathise very greatly David. Like you, I'm a fundamentally very straight and honest person and get rather irritated when I have to go through many hoops to prove it...

It does sound like they're rather further up their own rear ends than most though.

As Richard says, it's the high level of fraud and general scamming that causes it. If our august PM wants to start repairing the 'broken society' he speaks of then a damm good place to start would be to deal as harshly as possible with all the bloody shysters and charlatans who prepetrate all the fraud and general scamminess that makes life incredibly hard for the rest of us. I feel very strongly about this, as you may have guessed...

I'm sorry our adventures for tomorrow are causeing a problem in this direction..
