It's been a long time since I've been able to access the Forum, but I have now.. .
OK Please can anyone assist on this. I'm in the process of changing the interior of my HDI SX Estate.. fitting an Exclusive leather interior and part of that is the glovebox with the mock wood fascia strip. What I would like to do is to just remove the old strip and use the wooden one from the donor glovebox..retaining the old lock as the I don't have the key for the donor one. How the heck do I dismantle the glovebox lid to enable me to do this?? Any guidance gratefully received..Thanks

Welcome back.
Not much guidance because I’ve not done a Mk II, but I removed the lid of a Mk I to fiddle the lock.
Removing the lid needed the glove box taken out and I also took off the felt under the box to see what.
The lock comes out from the inside, and transferring it to the woody lid is safer than changing fronts.

Hi Clogzz. Well I have the donor glovebox on the floor now.lol
One of the reasons I need to swap bits within the lid is because the donor lid's a bit scratched, and the one currently in my car isn't.
What I need to do is to dismantle the lid of the donor, remove the lock and wood effect moulding, then basically do the same to the one in the car and swap the parts over, but retaining the lock that's in the one in the car..'cos I don't have the key to the other one...
Sorry to waffle here. .but I just wanted to explain as best as I can what I need to achieve...hopefully...

Still not been able to find a way into my glovebox lid.. I appreciate it's probably not something that many have tried, but someone must have...
It's like a really difficult Rubik's Cube.., but it was assembled.. so it's gonna be unassembled, eventually..
Please all you great Citronuts. give me a clue here.. Thanks a lot!!
