Just wondering if it'll likely be a thermostat or more likely something more sinister.

Thermostat my backside. I'd be giving it a miss, unless the seller lets it go at scrap value.

LOL at the seller's negative feedback for not posting out an S&M toy.

Issue is that it's in Auckland and I'm in Wellington - long way to travel given that amount of info.

Are you guessing head gasket(s) as well?

I noted the car wasn't even in NZ proper. Not a fan of Auckland.

It's probably been run dry and cooked "The red light just came on, but I had to get home." What would a wrecker pay - $400?

TBH over here probably up to a grand :shock:

Gonna pass me thinks, the emails sent back to me say he knows nothing about cars yet states that he changed coolant at home a few months back!!!

Points to air lock in my view

Could possibly be the thermostat, the problems is how many times has it been boiled?
