Im in the Dordogne region, not too far from Sarlat-La Caneda - a stunning place.
Im not sure what the idea of parking these old cars up, maybe they are things the owner wants to keep hold of, or somehting they will get around to restoring, maybe they will be happy in the knowledge that it will be back on the road.
The Tissier CX (I have pictures of course) had the garages name on, so it was used by the garage at one point, and then has been forgotten about, along with a few other cars. Ill post up the pictures.
I have seen a few H-Vans, one today in a very bright yellow in fantastic condition and another one needing refurbishing.
Cars work out very expensive over here, I was flicking through a French auto trader type mag earlier and found a C5 like mine would cost between 11,000-12,000 Euros, or £10,000 - £11,000 in UK money.
Luke, I have seen about 6 Vel's, no pictures of any but they are around more so than in the UK. I am yet to see a Avantime ... There are a good few Renault 21s and 25s around though.
Its very rare to see a modern petrol car, just about every car is a diesel, even the very tiny cars, Twingos etc.
Im just sat in our Gite overlooking a valley and watching a thunderstorm get closer and closer, its very windy! It has been 37 degrees for most of the day and very humid, we were expecting a bit of weather ...
Ill stick up some more pictures later, of the Tissier too.

A few more pictures then:
A very sunburnt DS:
A S1 CX 6 wheeler, looks to have once been an ambulance and then had its windows boarded over to make it a van. It does say Taxi on it, though I doubt if it ever was. Its the longer 4 door version, an excellent sight:
Pig nose Visa, Twinpot? This was road going:
S2 2.1TD Manual XM:
Early R5 and Dyanne, both looked in very good condition:
A pair of Ami 6s, one a little better than the other:
Sad looking 2cv:
Flintston 2cv ...
Renault 16 & Peugeot 605:

IIRC the 17 was a two door coupe', I think there was another model with the same body shape as a 17 but a larger engine which had a different name.

In the past: 3, CX td Safaris and about 7, XM td estates. Lovely cars. - x 1205
The last time we were in France about three years ago we saw more BXs than anything else, farmers seem to use them a lot. No estates though they seem to just stick a trailer on the back.
We saw very few XMs and only one estate, there are a few around Cherbourge but we did see several in the Rennes area. Mind you we saw a lot more then than you see in this country now.
We had a white Safari like the one in the picture for seven years and covered over 150,000 miles in it but it was a Turbo DTR. Lovely car

I did a google on the CX S1 ambulance owned by Mnsr B Bradot. It turns out that he has a taxi business, hence the wording on the side of the old bus.
Its not impossible that this had been used by the taxi company as an ambulance as in France, unlike here in the UK, most ambulances are privately owned vehicles that you hire to take you from the scene of an emergency to hospital, or wherever. See how lucky we are here!
Sarlat, where this resides is too far south from my regular jaunts to France, another six hours driving.

There are a few BXs about, yesterday when I was in traffic there was a white BX hatch followed by a silver estate, though you don't see many estates, not of anything - Xms, Xantias, C5s, they are mostly hatchbacks. I have seen one XM estate.
I did spot another Xantia Activa yesterday, a S1 in silver. No pictures as I was rather high up ... it certainly had Activa wheels, spoiler etc though.
Interesting thought about the CX, shame its just laid up now though, a S1 6 wheeler seems fairly rare, going by google!
