I've been given a set of 4x4 tyres 205 75 15 tyres just loiok normal will they be ok to fit on my steel rims or are they just designed for 4x4'. thanks

They'll be too tall and will foul the wheelarch when on high on a Xantia.

65 profiles almost do...

Also, they'll knock your speedo calibration out...

Forgot to mention my cars a c5 estate will that make any difference

No, they'll still be far too big. My Old V6 had 60 profiles on the front and 65 profiles on the back when I first got her. Firstly the 65s fouled the rear wheel arches on high and in motion they set up the most awful slow beat at speeds over 65mph that felt like you were driving on a a big sheet of corrugated iron...

Not recommended at all. Stick to what the manufacturer says the size should be...

You would also have serious insurance and safety implications when fitting 4x4 tyres to a normal car and tyres which are way out of spec for the car.
