EPIC diesel pump stop solenoid

Post by kenhall1202 »

My XM 2.1TD EPIC stop solenoid is playing up as shown by the engine running on for a few seconds after switching off. Merlin Diesel of Preston tell me that the Delphi overhaul kit 9109-719 (new rubber tipped plunger, spring and a few O rings) is obsolete which I find strange as it has been recently offered on French Ebay, but the listing recently ended (all 10 sold). I contacted the French Ebay seller and he still has them at 15.08 Euro each + 15 Euro carriage, which is a bit steep for something that can be posted in a small Jiffy bag for 2 or 3 Euros.

Has anyone purchased this 9109-719 kit from a UK seller? If so please could you let me have some details otherwise I will be forced to accept the rip off French seller's offer.

I find it hard to believe that they're obsolete Ken.

A search of the interweb found this French Source for them.

Otherwise, contact Delphi direct and get their thoughts. they still mention the EPIC on their website.

Let us know how it goes..

Problem sorted!

For the benefit of anyone else who has this problem the up to date Delphi part number for the EPIC pump stop solenoid plunger is 9160-548A. It is sensible to replace the three solenoid O rings at the same time and the part numbers are 9007-497AL and 9007-497BX (sold in packs of 10). Total cost of bits around a tenner.
