No code is needed. The radios are matched to the cars so you can't swap them frpom one to another but there's absolutely no problem on the same car.

When I disconnected the battery on the Xsara last month I didn't even have to put the channel frequencies in again. I can't remember whether the C5 is the same but it probably is.

You'll have to reset the clock though.

Not quite sure what he meant by the clock spring but the centre of the COM2000 locks into position when a steering wheel isn't pressing it down, as does the surrounding collar on the COM unit.

They are locked into position so that the position of the steering wheel is in a known position for the ASD/ASR (if fitted) If you press the centre down you'll be able to move them but not too far so you can snap them back. The front wheels should be straight ahead when refitting the steering wheel.

On reflection the clock spring is probably inside this rotating collar and this must be in the centre of so that it doesn't become overstretched on one of the full locks.

The cruise control should work once a Lexia has told the BSI to acknowledge its exisance. It's actually a very good mod - I use mine all the time.

If this is a change of the COM2000 unit it will not work, the COM2000 unit on the Exclusive steering wheel position talks CAN BUS the unit as fitted to an LX doesn't ( Mk1 cars not sure about MkII's)

EDIT The critical issue is whether the car has ESP if ESP COM2000 steering wheel position is on CAN BUS if not ESP Steering wheel position as such is just a couple of discreet inputs to the BSI.
