Xantia Bumper Trims.

Post by Citroening »

Evening Chaps,

I was wondering whether the chrome bumper trims that always corrode were compatible between Series 1 and Series 2 cars?

I feel I already know the answer, but it's worth asking....

Frankers (sorry, I'm in that kind of mood  )

The side rubbing strips are identical (Brian Primmer sells replacement stainless strips). Front and rear I can't say as I know the S2 bumpers are slightly more prominent, but whether this extends to the chrome strip :?:

 I've been called worse!

I suppose I'll have to wait until the estate is back home and then I'll have a look.
Ideally, I'd like to swap the front trims with the one on the Activa as it's seen better days.

Which ones do you need S1 or S2?

If S1, please let me know what cost is for front and rears from Citroen as I need a set.

Also, a set of some Primmer side strips. Gradually overhauling mine too.

I need them for the Series 1 Activa, Roger. I'll have a look into how much Citroen sell them for, if they still do them that is.

From memory I think the Brian Primmer S/S ones were around the £40 mark - would need to check that though. Not sure if they include the fronts and rears though. :?
They're good though - just bought some for the XM (bit more expensive than the Xantia ones) and they really do brighten up the car. 8-)

One was on Ebay for £49 last week. Not sure if it sold or not though.

Edit:

Still there, Havnt got the £50 to spare at the minute, nevermind whatever it would cost to get it to Ireland.

For the fronts.

Just had a look on Service Citroen for the front bumper moulding:

Image

As you can see, parts number 02 and 03 are the mouldings and 02 is without headlamp washers, and 03 is with.

Image

So brand new, if you haven't got headlamp washers is £85.74, and with headlamp washers is £91.38.

Rears to follow...

For the rears.

Image

Part number 02 is the one and it's the only one as they're all the same on Series 1 hatchbacks.

Image

Price-wise, for a brand new rear moulding it's £89.58

I could do with a front trim from a mark 2 with headlamp washers though willing to modify a non washer one if necessary.

Also still after the plastic triangular trim on the outside of the offside rear door.
It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I'm right
