Xantia driver's manual height adjust

Post by Xaccers »

Now, I'm not a small lad, and I seem to have lead in my bones*, at over 20stone (but dropping slowly) when I sit in Cassy's driver's seat (set at high), it drops down half way.
Both screws on the side of the lever are tight as can be.
Anyone of a similar mass have the same issue, or better still not have the same issue?

*Stood on one of those weighing machines in Boots once, it told me how much overweight I was and how much of my weight was made up of muscle/fat.
Apparently I not only have to loose every Oz of fat, but 4Kg of muscle too in order to be my ideal weight!

Good grief; rugby front row material - you're almost half me again and I'm no titch.

That said, no droppage of the seat height adjuster - which, like yourself, I prefer to be well up.

After I lost over 6 stone I had countless comments of people wondering whether I had contracted the big 'C' and that I looked very unwell, even then I was still outside the BMi index 'ideal weight' On my locker at work I still have the Dymo label of "Japanese POW" that a colleague put there

Oooeerrr Xac, How do we answer this without Hurting you, or possible insults... :?

Im sorry if I do..

Theres a couple of things to look for.. Cracked frame work on the under seat and Im being serious too, the floor mounts them self on the front mounting areas..

Rock the seat does it move a lot??? Thats the clue to the broken floor. My guess is though somthing on the under side of the seat frame work has given. The seats and seating mounts were not designed for anyone over 5 stone!

Sorry, Ive tried to be as nice as possible..

The seat is solid as a rock, and just by pushing I can't make it drop in height.
Oh well, danielle and I are due to join the gym so time will tell :)

I have the same thing at 21st... (Although, I'm 6'7!)

My seat even on the lowest setting seems to drop further down when I get in, I think it's on a very strong spring.

It's one of the advantages of the motorised seats in the Activa, hmm, wonder if they could be retrofitted :)

Actually, I've been wondering about getting a similarly upholstered drivers seat from the continent to replace the passenger seat so Danielle can adjust the height.
